How VMF Works – A Scientific Approach to Subsurface Exploration

Check out our Detailed Whitepaper

Every element and compound in the Earth emits a unique spectral signature — its own “fingerprint” in the electromagnetic spectrum. By analysing multispectral satellite data across hundreds of frequency bands, VMF isolates these signatures with mathematical precision.

VMF 2D Scan

The First Step Towards Precision Exploration

How Our 2D Scan Works

  • Every element underground emits a unique spectral signature — like a voice in a crowded room. In VMF’s 2D analysis, we capture all the “voices” at once using high-resolution multispectral satellite data.

  • Then, through our custom-built mathematical filters, we isolate the exact frequency of the element you’re searching for. It’s like tuning into a single voice in a hall of a hundred people.

  • If the signal is present, we can map it precisely on the surface, showing you where hidden reserves lie beneath your land. This method enables us to scan massive areas in record time while maintaining pinpoint accuracy.

What We Deliver in our 2D Report

Spectral Signal Detection

Whether the target element exists in your block. Spectral signals are Direct Indicators of element presence. in the subsurface.

2D Concentration Map

Exact coordinates (X, Y) of high-potential areas with up to ± 3 meter accuracy.

Quick Turnaround

Results typically delivered within 8-10 weeks, regardless of terrain, season, or climate.

When Should You Use VMF 2D?

Early Exploration Stage

Early Exploration Stage

Early Exploration Stage

Conventional surveys take years and may overlook subtle anomalies.

VMF’s 2D scan quickly identifies if your block truly holds the target element, giving you early clarity.

Pre-Bid Evaluation

Early Exploration Stage

Early Exploration Stage

Traditional data often leaves bidders guessing.

With VMF 2D, you can evaluate the mineralisation upfront, letting you bid with confidence and avoid expensive mistakes.

Brownfield Rejuvenation

Brownfield Rejuvenation

Many producing blocks still hide overlooked anomalies that seismic or geochemical surveys missed.

VMF resurfaces these signals, helping you squeeze more value out of existing assets.

VMF 3D Scan

From Signals to Subsurface Reality

How Our 3D Scan Works

  • VMF 3D takes exploration beyond surface signatures into the heart of the earth. By analyzing angular satellite images (off-nadir views), we detect the direction from which each spectral signal is being emitted.

  • With multiple image angles, our algorithms can triangulate the origin of the signal—much like how GPS pinpoints location—allowing us to geometrically compute the precise depth at which the target element lies.

  • This process transforms 2D surface concentration maps into a full 3D subsurface model, revealing the hidden structure, size, and richness of the deposit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at vmf@swatienergy.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

  • 2D Survey: Identifies and maps the presence and concentration intensity of a target element using its spectral signal. It highlights where resources are likely located and which areas deserve priority.

  • 3D Survey: Builds on 2D by providing volumetric data — calculating reserve quantity, depth, thickness, and precise coordinates (X, Y, Z). This is the “drilling-ready” stage.

  • Location Precision: ±3 meters in X, Y positioning.
  • Depth Penetration: Up to 8,000 meters.
  • Volume Accuracy: >90% in cubic meters, ~75% in tonnes.
  • Grade Estimation: ~75% accuracy (g/t or %).

No. Drilling will always remain the ultimate ground truth. VMF complements drilling by telling you exactly where to drill and minimizing wasted costs on unproductive holes.

Yes and no. Both have their strengths. VMF 2D can dramatically reduce the workload of conventional surveys by focusing exploration on high-potential zones instead of scanning entire blocks, saving months of time. Seismic, however, excels at modelling subsurface rock strata, layers, folds, faults, and fractures—something VMF does not do.

VMF directly pinpoints the presence of hydrocarbons or minerals. Many clients choose to combine both, using VMF to locate the resource and seismic/geophysics to design extraction.

We understand the skepticism; new technologies often face it. VMF has been proven in multiple geographies — from oil blocks in Russia and the Middle East to metallic belts in Africa.

Our results have been validated against drilling logs, aeromagnetic surveys, and radiometric data. Clients such as national oil companies and mining majors have provided written testimonials confirming accuracy and successful discoveries.

Rather than spending months and crores surveying entire blocks, VMF pinpoints exactly where mineralization exists. Our 2D scans quickly eliminate barren ground and direct your field teams only to high-potential zones, saving time, manpower, and survey budgets.

But more than cost savings, VMF focuses on how to increase your profit from your block. VMF reduces the biggest hidden expense in exploration — uncertainty. By showing you the depth, continuity, and grade of mineralization before you drill, we help you avoid misallocated capital and focus your spend where returns are highest.

The result: lower exploration outlay, faster timelines, and better profitability from every block.

Yes — but each mineral is a separate process.

  • Each element has its own unique spectral signature, so we must filter and process them one by one.
  • The same satellite image can be reused, but the analysis pipeline is repeated independently for each mineral.
  • For example, if you want gold, copper, and nickel in the same block, we run three separate scans.

  • 2D Survey: Usually delivered within 8-10 weeks, depending on area size.
  • 3D Survey: Takes an additional 6-8 weeks after 2D, as volumetric modelling is more complex.

No physical access is required. You only need to provide:

  • Coordinates and proof of license/ownership of the block.
  • That’s it — VMF is 100% non-invasive and requires no environmental clearance, mobilization, or local permissions.

Yes. VMF is fully non-invasive and unaffected by terrain or weather. Deserts, forests, mountains, offshore, or ultra-deep water—our results remain consistent.

Most clients see 3–5x savings on exploration budgets. By eliminating months of surveys and minimizing wasted drilling, VMF not only reduces upfront spend but accelerates time to production — directly improving cash flow and NPV of the project.

Absolutely. Many of our clients use VMF to re-evaluate old mines and mature oilfields, discovering missed reserves and extending the productive life of existing assets without the cost of new acquisitions.
